PhD student at the University of Auckland working in the fields of Seismology and Rock Physics. My research utilises scaled laboratory models to explore volcano seismic signatures with a focus on samples and data from White Island Volcano (Whakāri), New Zealand.
Before moving to Auckland to start a PhD I graduated with a MSc in Exploration Geophysics from the University of Edinburgh, UK and a BSc in Physics from the University of Leicester, UK. I also did a stint in industry, working as a Geophysicist at Fugro Survey Ltd where I acquired and interpreted geophysical data to explore shallow marine geohazards.
Current research topics:
- Laboratory generation of fluid induced, low frequency volcanic earthquakes
- Changing physical properties of White Island rocks with hydrothermal alteration
- NZ Seismometers in Schools Outreach Programme: Ru
